The Location for Your Pot Rack
First of all, measuring the ceiling joists before you choose a pot rack will ensure that you choose a pot rack that is the right size and shape and will be the easiest to install. Also, think about the items you plan to hang on the pot rack. For strainers and colanders, an over-the-sink location will probably work best. However, if you plan on using the pot rack for bowls and whisks, over an island or a wall-mounted pot rack behind your work surface might be the best location.
