Hanging Pot Racks
How tall is your ceiling? Most hanging pot racks are designed to fit 8 ft. to 9 ft. ceilings for easy access to cooks of average height. Shorter chefs or taller ceilings will likely require chain or extension hooks to lower the pot rack. To find a comfortable reach length, add 6 to 10 inches to your height depending on the length of your arms. You do not need to be able to reach the hanging hooks on your pot rack, only the bottom of the pan to lift it off the hook. See example below.

Lighted Pot Racks Do you need a Lighted Pot Rack? If your new pot rack is going to be hanging over your island you may be losing valuable light. Get your pot racks with lights and add style, dimension and of course, light!
Do you need extra hooks, links and chains? Most of our pot racks come standard with the hooks and chains that are suitable for your pot rack. You also have the option of purchasing additional hooks, links and chains. Hooks: Hooks come in all different shapes and sizes and are used for hanging items from your pot rack.
Links: Links are used to lower your pot rack to your desired height. They come in different shapes and lengths.
Quick Links: Quick links are used to connect your chain to the pot rack.
Chains: Chains are used to lower a pot rack from the ceiling.
You can purchase these items in the same finish as your pot rack or when available you can use them as an accent and buy them in a complementary finish. For example, if you bought a Copper pot rack, purchase Hammered Steel hooks.
Wall Pot Racks
Where are you going to hang it?
Once you have decided you want a wall hanging pot rack, your next step will be to measure the space where your pot rack is going to go. This will help you decide what size pot rack will work best in your space.
When choosing your pot rack, keep the measurements in mind and choose a rack that is going to comfortably fit in that space. Remember you are going to be frequently adding and removing items from this rack. Make sure you allow yourself enough room and easy access.
Next, make sure that there is enough space below the pot rack for the items that you are going to hang from it. Remember pots and pans are usually between 10 and 21 inches long and this does not include the length of the hooks that they will be hanging from.
