You will need to mount this to some sort of board before you mount to the wall. There is no possible way to hit the studs otherwise. I went out and bought a nice piece of walnut 52"x5" x 3/4" (bought online even) and mounted that to my wall, then mounted the pot rack to this. Looks great! I mounted the arms of the rack directly to wall using 1" round spacers (bought at [...])and bought some longer screws and better drywall anchors then those that came with. This gives plenty of support to the rack.Just takes a bit more time and effort into assembly but if I can do it anyone can and it is worth it. Looks great and you can't beat the price compared to a lot of pot racks out there. Now I have all my pots, including 3 cast iron, hanging so she is sturdy. Comes with plenty of hangers.

I read a comment on this site and it said to take a nice piece of wood and mount that to the studs and then mount the potrack to that, and for my kitchen that was the best advice and definitely makes it ultra sturdy! Very attractive!

Great design and functionality yet the product was designed in a superior manner and the bolts were not ordinary and they failed to include all bolts and an extra for just in case.
